Jennifer Melot will be discussing her work with ORCA, the CZI hackathon, and its connecting with MOSS!
Jennifer Melot is the Technical Lead of the Emerging Technology Observatory (ETO) effort at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology at Georgetown University. The ETO creates tools and datasets that help decisionmakers answer questions about emerging technologies. This talk will describe the architecture, use cases, open data and code, and next steps for two tools: the ORCA (Open-source software Research and Community Activity) tracker, a tool that makes it easy to compare health and activity metrics of software mentioned in different fields of research, and the Map of Science, a tool that facilitates analysis of clusters of scholarly literature, including their most prominent research topics, papers, and organizations.
